Thank you

A special thank you to our attendees as well as those who worked so hard to make this year’s conference a success!

On Saturday, October 25th, the Portland UASI Citizen Corps Working group held the 2008 Partners in Preparedness Conference for our Citizen Corps colleagues throughout FEMA Region X at the Holiday Inn Portland Airport.  Members of VIPS, MRC, CERT, Fire Corps, COAD and Affiliate Programs attended this conference with the intent to begin looking at ways to exercise together, to ‘cross pollinate’ and to ensure collaboration. The objective of this conference was to expand core knowledge beyond each individual Citizen Corps Program and to strengthen the bridges being built between these lifesaving programs.

Success!

  • 23 different classes were offered
  • 269 people registered for the conference
  • Feedback has been extremely positive
  • 47 students attended the 3-day CERT Train the Trainer Pilot program
  • 10 students attended the VIPS and Disaster Response Training
  • Attendees received Citizen Corps bags containing an Are You Ready booklet, Whistle, Citizen Corps Pin, Citizen Corps Pen, and more!
